Christopher S. Miller

Christopher S. Miller was born in 1804 and died on February 27, 1884. He is buried at the New Ohio Cemetery, Tunnel, Broome County, NY.
Christopher married Maria M. Clark (daughter of William (George?) Clark and Betsey Brown) in September 1820.
Records show Maria was born in 1810 and died on Dec. 11, 1887. She is buried at the New Ohio Cemetery, Tunnel, Broome Co., NY.
We have found various spelling for Maria, including "Marra" and "Mariah". We are unsure of the date of Maria's birth or the date of the marriage of Christopher and Maria. (As listed, Maria would have been 10 years old when they were married.) We have found no documentation to dispute this, however.

The 1860 U.S. Federal Census indicates Christopher & Maria had a live-in, Sarah Hakes - we are not sure if Sarah was orphaned or lived in as help. The 1870 census does not list Sarah Hakes as a resident in the Miller household, but the 1880 census lists another live-in, Sally Marsh.
Christopher and Maria had the following children:
